Actor Denies Anti-Vaccine Position After Lending His Voice To Disputed Covid Documentary
Liam Neeson has given his narration to a recent film that questions the safety of immunizations and praises one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is inspired by a popular book published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that Covid was caused by a problematic version of the influenza shot.
Her writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure the Infowars host. The producer recently posted celebrating Neeson's involvement in the project.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of Neeson have provided a comment pushing back against implications that he supports anti-immunization views.
"We all understand that corruption may occur within the drug industry, but that should never be conflated with being against vaccines," the response explains. "He never has been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The statement noted that the actor had no hand in the documentary's narrative and that inquiries about its assertions ought to go to the creators.
Major Assertions Featured in the Film
According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several provocative claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have demanded "complete compliance" to government bodies.
- It posits that "medical science has become highly politicised."
- RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
- The film takes aim at stay-at-home orders, claiming they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Historical Controversy and Recent Debates
It includes a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was afterwards the focus of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, the political figure instructed the CDC to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, even with a recent study from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.
An Earlier Position of Support
Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has in the past voiced strong support for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.
Previously, he described vaccines as "an incredible triumph," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has forgotten how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."
The film concludes with Neeson's narration saying, "This is not the finish of our journey. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
