Canada's Blue Jays Secure World Series Showdown With the Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

George Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the World Series in 2017.

Canada's MLB team reached their first World Series after 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the final seventh game of the AL Championship Series.

Behind 3-1, Springer hit a three-run home run in the seventh frame, leading the only Canadian franchise in the majors to a four games to three victory in the series. They will now face the Dodgers, the team that is the current crown, in the forthcoming championship.

"I'm thrilled for our team, the city, our country," Springer stated, an integral part of the Astros team that won the 2017 championship. "What an incredible feeling."

Springer has now hit 23 total October home runs, placing him third on the list behind Manny Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (27).

"I can't think of another person on planet Earth that I'd prefer in that moment other than Springer with his October magic," said Blue Jays manager John Schneider.

Seattle, after leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise that has never reached in a Fall Classic.

Wilson commented "certainly that it hurts" after his club's elimination at their home ballpark, but commended their efforts throughout the year.

"This is a unique group. Unfortunately that we ended up on the wrong side of the series," he added.

Toronto's team won the title on each of their earlier trips in the early 90s, and are set to host the Los Angeles in the first game on this Friday.
