Christantus Uche Sparks Straightforward Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting very quickly. Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in match.

The Shelbourne team that had finished their league season were no match even for a mostly second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Dominance Asserted from the Outset

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.

Midfielder Adam Wharton went close minutes later, driving a long-range effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after bursting into the box, but the referee dismissed the protests.

Ex-Arsenal man did not have wait long to get his goal, tapping home from close range after Uche's shot had hit the post.

The home side were hanging on for dear life. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a header from a corner.

Yeremy Pino Seals the Game

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
