Los Angeles witnessed widespread festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Crowds

Los Angeles area events featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Social media videos depict thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.

“I’m already thinking about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an interpreter.

The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the players walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and the artist cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses

Festivities began well before the procession, with Dodgers fans lighting fireworks in the roads of Downtown Los Angeles on the previous evening.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented plainly about the win.

“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I adore this team. This city means everything to me.”

Mixed Reactions and Community Spirit

In contrast, the team owner received a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show him walking onstage to a mix of cheers and boos, with negative shouts interrupting his address.

The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed as much if not more support.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
