It's the latest entry in a long-running warfare game franchise commonly framed as a more realistic answer to the CoD series.
This game has never quite managed to match its most famous competitor in aspects of units sold or players, but evidence points to the new installment could narrow the difference.
A trial weekend allowing users a opportunity to try out the title earlier this year set new benchmarks, and the buzz heading into its launch has been immense.
But the endeavor is nevertheless a significant gamble for publisher the gaming giant, which has allegedly invested vast amounts of money producing it.

Development Crew and Studio Collaboration
Several studios have been developing the project under the Battlefield Studios banner.

New Artist Brings Fresh Insight
