The United Kingdom is prepared to move forward with using the total value of seized Russia's funds to support Ukraine's defense operations, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a joint statement, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this unified step would heighten pressure on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to come to the table.

They clarified that the initiative would be implemented in close cooperation with the America.

British sanctions have blocked over £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow began its full-scale invasion against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, funds allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russian assets had only been sourced from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were aligned in their goal to drive progress toward utilizing the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state funds to conclude the conflict.
