Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for a new locally engineered interceptor drone to strengthen its aerial protection systems. The first three manufacturers have started production, with 11 more preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Combat Situations

The drones will be based on a nationally created system known as “Octopus” engineered to intercept Shahed drones. This technology underwent testing in actual battle and proved effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of producing as many as 1,000 interceptors daily.
