Ways these Broncos and their 'play-dough' quarterback can halt that Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks for another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after last week's talk about two top teams being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the number of infractions each committed. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender in CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver won that contest.

They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and send a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, we said during a show how Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year well and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE Evan Engram has stepped up significantly while recent RB their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks fifth league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

It's impressive that head coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

That shows how Denver are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw anywhere, but they lack in the same way that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His assets include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, as well as finding varied release points to make throws as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got great poise under pressure and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is quick to decide.

If you constantly rush it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the area vertically and horizontally. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back at Payton during games at times and it seems the coach likes that attitude, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for him.

Payton owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely down to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team strong enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, which is a solid position to hold their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the league began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator with another team.

Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges on what version of the Chiefs they face since Denver {beat|def
